When benefits begin
Your benefits plan year starts on August 1 and ends July 31 of each year.
As a new hire, your benefits begin on the first day of the month after your hire date. For example, if you start on April 15, your coverage kicks in on May 1.
Take action within 30 days
If you’re a new hire or you’ve recently moved from part-time to full-time, you have 30 days to enroll in your benefits. Once you make your selections, they’ll stay in place for the rest of the plan year, unless you experience a qualifying life event.
When life changes, your benefits can too
When a qualifying life event taps you on the shoulder—like getting married, welcoming a baby, gaining or losing other coverage—you have 30 days to update your benefits in BenefitFocus.
