Life Moment Guidance

Big life moments can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. Whether you’re looking to grow your family, supporting a loved one, navigating an ongoing health situation, or looking for mental health support, Pandora’s benefits are designed to support you.

Planning to grow your family or have a baby

Different paths, same goal: support for growing your family.

Family planning and fertility support

Fertility coverage includes:

  • IVF (including ZIFT/GIFT) is covered without requiring a medical diagnosis. You have no limit on the number of cycles; instead up to $15,000 is covered for any fertility treatment, excluding medication costs.
  • Prior authorization requirements are being removed for IVF/ZIFT/GIFT.
  • Genetic testing when necessary (Preimplantation Genetic Testing or PGT)
  • Egg freezing when medically necessary (not for social preservation)
  • Doula services, up to $5,000

UnitedHealthcare plan members: Beginning August 1, you’ll have access to Maven, an app-based virtual clinic that can support you during pregnancy, postpartum, and newborn stages of having a child. This program costs you nothing!

Adoption and surrogacy (non-medical reimbursement)

Beginning August 1, Pandora will offer an adoption and surrogacy benefit to help with eligible expenses. For information on eligibility, what’s included, and how to get started, head to the Family Planning page.

Take time to bond with your newest family member

Adding a child to your family? Congratulations! Beginning August 1, Pandora will offer up to eight weeks of paid time off so that you can bond with your newborn or newly adopted child. You'll receive full pay for the first four weeks, 80% for the following two weeks and 60% for the remaining two weeks under this leave.

Caring for a parent

Caregiving is a lot. Here are a few quick ways to get organized (and get support).

  • Start with the basics: Confirm insurance coverage, current medications, and provider contact info.
  • Make a short care plan: Define who’s doing what, what the schedule looks like, and what “backup” support looks like.
  • Ask for help early: It’s easier to build a support system before you’re burned out.

Need emotional support while you’re caregiving?

For coaching, therapy, groups, and tools, start with Modern Health.

What to do next

  1. If you need help finding in-network providers or facilities, start with your plan’s provider tools (or Garner Health, where applicable).
  2. If you’re feeling stretched thin, book a Modern Health session (coaching or therapy) or join a group.

Managing unique challenges

When life presents unique challenges—like supporting aging parents who are victims of identity theft or updating legal documents after a major change—consider legal coverage and/or identity theft protection through Pandora.

UHC member programs

If you enroll in a UnitedHealthcare (UHC) medical plan, you’ll have additional programs to support your unique needs beginning August 1, including:

Substance use support: Resources, digital self-help tools, licensed in-person and virtual therapists and more.

Cancer support services: Through the Cancer Resource Services program, you have access to a national network of quality cancer centers and guidance on local providers, travel and lodging benefits (if applicable), and access to a nurse for education and support during initial phase of diagnosis and treatment. For Cancer Resources Services, call directly at (866) 936-6002 or work with a UnitedHealthcare Advocate for a referral.

Special needs support: The Special Needs Initiative supports families who have children with complex and unique healthcare needs. It provides you with a personalized care advisor who can help answer questions and ease your concerns, anxiousness, and stress.
